I wanted to put out an article that went over all the different aspects and problems associated with Hemorrhoids. I had a horrible experience with Hemorrhoids about 3 years ago. I had no idea what a hemorrhoid even was and if I would have known what the early symptoms were I could have probably prevented a lot of pain and suffering. It all started with a slight itch which I didn’t think anything at all about it. Few weeks later it was a bad itch and now it was starting to burn too. I still didn’t know what it was and didn’t go to the doctor or ask anyone about it. I lived with it for about another month or so and then it got really bad. The hemorrhoids were the size of grapes and they were bleeding and that is when i went in to seek out the advice of my specialist. I ended up having to have surgery on them and I think the pain during the recovery period was worse than the actual hemorrhoids. Hopefully this article and its links can help prevent others from going through what I went through.
Hemorrhoids are actually very common among all walks of life. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, male or female. We are all susceptible to developing them and some people more than others based on lifestyle and habits. I had developed a really bad case of hemorrhoids that bled and when hemorrhoids bleed, you usually end up in a lot more pain and need to seek out the advice of a doctor to determine how serious your hemorrhoids have become.
There are many factors that lead to the cause of hemorrhoids. Here is list of common factors leading to the cause of hemorrhoids:
- coughing
- sitting too much
- heavy straining due to constipation
- pregnancy
- being overweight
- lifting too much
- sneezing
- diarrhea
- low fiber diet
- strain due to vomiting
- types of anal infections
Are you looking how to heal hemorrhoids ? Here is a list of some techniques that might help to alleviate some symptoms:
- ibuprofen can help with the swelling
- warm baths several times a day with no soap, just soak for about 10 minutes at a time
- loose clothes and loose cotton underwear
- ice packs to reduce swelling
- you can apply preparation H or petroleum jelly directly to the hemorrhoids
There are hemorrhoids creams and ointments that are available over the counter or by prescription only. Most of these are used to treat the pain and swelling and most times do not heal the hemorrhoid completely at least in my experience. They do not treat the real problem which is within the veins themselves. Most of the creams and ointments make life tolerable for a short time while the body tries to heal the hemorrhoid naturally.
What does it mean when you have shrinking hemorrhoids? Well this is a great sign actually, it means that the hemorrhoid is starting to heal itself, but doesn’t always mean that it will heal completely and may flare back up just as large or larger than it was depending on the situation. I myself would treat the hemorrhoid as soon as I knew I had one. From my experience if you just wait for them to go away a lot of time they can get worse.
Hopefully this article helps to clear up some questions that you may of had about hemorrhoids. The links that are listed above go a lot further in detail about each subject.
